Terms and Conditions for Plus Transportation

(Non-Emergency Medical Transportation – Minnesota)
1. Certification and Compliance

Plus Transportation operates in full compliance with Minnesota state regulations for Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT). All services provided adhere to the standards outlined in Minnesota Statutes §§ 174.29 – 174.30 and Minnesota Rules, Chapter 8840. Our company maintains an active certificate of compliance from the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), ensuring all vehicles and drivers meet the required safety and operational standards.

2. Driver Qualifications

All Plus Transportation drivers undergo background checks and meet the Minnesota Health Care Programs (MHCP) enrollment requirements. As of January 1, 2023, all NEMT claims must include the MHCP-enrolled driver’s Unique Minnesota Provider Identifier (UMPI) as the rendering provider on the claim. Our drivers receive training in safe transportation practices and patient care to uphold our high service standards.

3. Vehicle Standards and Inspections

All vehicles used for NEMT services are regularly inspected to meet safety requirements as mandated by MnDOT. Plus Transportation complies with annual and random vehicle inspections, as well as records audits, to ensure continued adherence to safety regulations. Our fleet consists of well-maintained, clean, and fully equipped vehicles to transport clients safely and comfortably.

4. Service Documentation

To ensure transparency and compliance, Plus Transportation maintains accurate trip logs for every service provided. These records include pickup and drop-off times, mileage, and necessary signatures from clients or healthcare providers to verify transportation services. Proper documentation is essential for compliance with state regulations and for processing reimbursements.

5. Billing and Reimbursement

Billing for NEMT services is based on the client’s assessed mode of transportation, as determined by the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS). Plus Transportation follows the billing procedures outlined by DHS, ensuring all claims are accurate and submitted in a timely manner. Clients and their insurance providers are responsible for any applicable costs not covered under state reimbursement guidelines.

6. Liability and Client Responsibilities

While Plus Transportation prioritizes safety and professionalism, clients are responsible for adhering to scheduled ride times and providing accurate transportation details. We are not liable for delays due to traffic, weather, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. Clients must notify Plus Transportation of any cancellations or changes to their transportation needs in advance.

7. Amendments and Updates

Plus Transportation reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions as necessary to remain in compliance with Minnesota state laws and industry best practices. Any changes will be communicated to clients and partners in a timely manner.

By using Plus Transportation’s NEMT services, clients acknowledge and agree to these Terms and Conditions. For any questions regarding our policies, please contact us directly.
